If you're really trying to strike fear in the hearts of many, Los Angeles-based artist Jason Adcock has the mask for you. Halloween is just over a month away, which means it's time. It wasn't until 2015 that McMurtry- who tours frequently and has a weekly residency at Austin's Continental Club when he's not on the road - finally completed a new solo album, Complicated Game, which was produced by C.C. Adcock and Mike Napolitano.
Clements' volleyball season ended the same way as four other teams in Region III, with a loss to eventual champion Clear Falls.
There was no shame in that last year as the Lady Knights acquitted themselves as one of the best in the state all season. Getting back to the playoffs was nice for Clements, but the Lady Rangers realized just getting to the postseason did not feel as great as it could have.
'The girls realize we lost to a pretty big opponent,' coach Jenny Adcock said. 'It definitely gave them a taste of it, but they don't think it was good enough. They were unsatisfied.'
That sets the stage for a bigger season in 2014 for Clements. The Lady Rangers bring back plenty of talent and experience for Adcock's second year. It was significant to get back to the playoffs last year after missing out in 2012. Just getting there will not be good enough this time around.
They will have experience on their side this year. Adcock said seniors Madison Coffey, Marie Daly and Emily Schlom have done well in leading by example. They do the things the coach does not want to have to worry about like making picking up balls after practice, making sure the players are wearing the right things to school each day and holding everybody accountable for arriving on time.
They leave the vocal leadership to junior setter/right side hitter Lauren Stifflemire. It's more than her loud voice that sets her apart, though. The Greater Houston Volleyball Coaches Association listed Stifflemire as one of the area's top 50 players. No matter which role each player is playing, they do it well together, Adcock said.
'These girls would fight for anything, espeically for each other,' she said. 'They don't want to let each other down. Every practice with these girls they're fighting and working hard.'
They hope to turn that into another playoff appearance and a victory or two this time. It will be a new challenge this year with the addition of the Alief ISD schools.

Fort Bend Austin likely will be the team to beat again this season, and Fort Bend Travis appears set up for another run at the postseason, too. Adcock said she sees no reason why her team cannot compete with those schools and the others.

She said the Rangers' talent and experience could take them a long way.

'They're as much a contender for first and second as the first and second teams from last year,' Adcock said. 'They're hungry to beat some teams they have not beaten in a couple of years.'
